Last couple of weekends we haven't doing that much, Kit has been perfecting his golf game. I have been just reading and trying to find things to keep busy with. I have been debating on buying a sewing machine to work on some projects. Hopefully we will be able to plan a small trip soon. We are thinking of going somewhere this December maybe Germany or Paris. Oh the decisions. I think we have explored most of the places that we can drive to that are near here. It is a little hot and humid Jack likes to go outside bake in the sun and then come in and cool off I think he is trying to sweat out the weight he has gained since being here, ( we feed him to much table food his sad eyes make us feel so bad.) well our Internet is going out for the night in 15mins so i had to get my Internet fix in.

Cappadocia
This weekend we went to Cappadocia it was pretty interesting, I don't want to post to many pictures and ruin the surprise of it for my Mom, Mickey and Sherry but here a few good ones.
First off we stayed at the Flintstones Cave hotel everyone was very nice and it had a great view.
We had a large room with 3 beds, 2 of which were in the front room the first night when we went to sleep only one bed which was ours was occupied, at 5:30 am when we woke up to our surprise we had another guest in one of the beds!
This was the Hotel cat he was very sweet and had a recent run in with a not so nice dog in the garden out back, he had about 10 staples in the leg. So we let the poor guy stay for free.
You can see the view from our window was really nice.
A store we went in to did lots of demonstrations a lot of work goes into make one bowl.
Kit trying to get Mount Erciyes and I in the same picture. That is one of the volcanos that help create the stone in Cappadoica
The Pictures below are the underground city in Derinkuyu (Deep well)
This was the most amazing place there. We went down to the eighth floor and it is not for tall people or if you do not like small places. It was amazing the people could make something so complex with no machinces to dig. I took a few things from another website to help explain it.
This last picture is for my grandpa, this is the second one of these I have seen in Turkey, it is like the VW Van ate a VW Bug.

Derinkuyu is notable for its large multi-level underground city (Derinkuyu Underground City), which is a major tourist attraction. The historical region of Cappadocia, where Derinkuyu is situated, contains several historical underground cities, carved out of an unique geological formation, and were largely used by early Christians as hiding places. They are not generally occupied. Over 200 underground cities at least two levels deep have been discovered in the area between Kayseri and Nevşehir, with around 40 of those comprised of at least three levels or more. The troglodyte cities at Derinkuyu and Kaymakli are two of the best examples of underground dwellings. The oldest written source about underground cities is the writings of Xenophon. In his Anabasis he writes that the people living in Anatolia had excavated their houses underground, living well in accommodations large enough for the family, domestic animals, and supplies of stored food. Derinkuyu Underground City provided a refuge for the region's inhabitants through the ages, for early Christians as well as possibly earlier dwellers, to Greeks hiding from the raids of the Umayyad Arab and Abbasid armies. The cities contained food stores, kitchens, stalls, churches, wine and oil presses, ventilation shafts, wells and a religious school. The Derinkuyu underground city has seven floors and a depth of 85 m and could have sheltered thousands of persons.
I had asked how they could see it was so dark a security guard acting as our guide told us that the first floor was meant for cooking, they used candle light but all lower levels with less ventilation used very little light. They even had a communication system with holes so they could yell and the next level could hear them.

July 4th
There was a nice carnival on Saturday with live music and lots of food. I had to work but had fun face painting. The night ended with fireworks unfortunately they did the fireworks behind a parking lot with lots of street lamps! So in every picture there was a street lamp.

Fun with face paint!

Brody wondering why his dad is getting pink lol.

Matheu above looking in the mirror too cute.

The guy below was one of the faces I painted, I got busy and didn't take pictures of the rest.

Monday we took the dogs to the beach so nice that it is close, we spend a couple hours and drive home.

Jack loved the beach umbrella we found at the mall. He is not quite a beach
loving dog like Riley poor guy is so hot.

The hit of the party was Riley the kids loved playing fetch with her. They called her iley it was cute.

Riley and Jack sat watching us when ever we swam. This was Riley watching and waiting for Kit.
