Old Adana shopping trip.

I went with some of the ladies from work to Old Adana to go shopping it was a lot of fun and I learned where to go. I didn't take a ton of picture but got a few interesting ones.

This little girl was striking a pose as soon as I took my camera out. She was very sweet she came over and said hello and told me her name and then looked at all my jewelry on telling me pretty.

Rosa helping the other ladies buy sunglasses. She was our guide she has lived here 4 years she knows a lot of the people and places to shop.

This was the meat market it smelled horrible. All the people wanted me to take pictures of there stands and the different meat they sold.

These looks like testicles or intestine.

This lady looked very pretty in this outfit the guy that owned the shop kept asking me to take her picture.

Everyone wanted me to take pictures of their shops. They did have amazing smelling hookah.

Now I know where to take my mom shopping when she comes in October and it won't be as hot.

Lazy summer weekend.

It seemed this weekend was the real kick off to summer, we had a family day on Friday so we have a three day weekend. After a busy week Kit and I were very tried yesterday (Friday) so we only did a few things in the morning then napped. We went to a store in the alley called Big Johns lots of neat old nick naks that were not touristy. Upstairs they had a really nice vanity I told Kit I liked it so he bought it for me. It is beautiful. I am not sure if he bought it because he was tried of my make-up and hair stuff all over the floor or just because he loved me. I think 80% love. Lol.

Either way it was really nice I love him a ton! It was a perfect gift who has a vanity these days. :-)

Saturday we went to a new beach, I love the beach but I never take lots of pictures because of all the sand. Sand + camera not good!

It was called Yumurtalik (yumurta means egg) they say loggerhead turtles nest there. It was small town about 50 minutes from us it was a nice quick drive. The water was warm and the beach was not to dirty.

People love watching the dogs play in the water Riley is quite impressive with the ball. This will be our spot I think, it is close for day trips.

On the drive we saw amazing fields of sun flowers this was just one of many. Sunflower oil is big here.

A good picture of my wonderful husband!

Weather

We have had some interesting weather here lately it seems like after 1 or 2 in the afternoon it gets cloudily and then rains last night it was like a flash flood and we even had water coming in our back door. Today around 3:30 the rain hit really hard and flooded very fast and with that we had a Tornado warning! Everyone that lives here says this is not normal it usually doesn't rain this late in the year. I have never lived a place with such a quick change in weather. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping now we will see what is in store tomorrow.

2nd and 3rd day in Izmir

So I never finished posting about our trip to Selçuk on the second day we spent it at the drop zone all day we made 3 more jumps. It was fun to see the view each time and take some time to look around. It is always hard the first jump to see everything because your focused on not getting lost and landing pattern. The jumps went well and we had a great day getting to know everyone.

- all the kids helping bring the flag in.

The last day we thought it would be good to go around the town and see what we could find and Kit had the great idea to rent a moped. It was a lot of fun we drove to the coast which was only a few miles away. This was the view from one road there was only a small set of hotels and the rest of the beach was wide open.

The beach looked really nice next time we plan on spending a day there

We also went to a water park called Aqua Fantasy it was nice we rode a few rides and Kit played volleyball with some of the locals no pictures from that sorry I didn't want to get the camera wet.

Last but not least the Doner stand. We went back and ate before we left and boy oh boy was it good. We tried the Wrap Doner it was in more of a flat bread and it was ok but not half as good as the one on the loaf of bread so we ordered one more and both of us were stuffed! I can't wait to go back again or find a place here that is close to being that good!

They slice the meat off as it turns on the grill behind it. Similar to the Greek gyros.
